A consultation with our audiologist helps us to understand your lifestyle and areas requiring improvement.
We take some time to understand you, your lifestyle, and the areas where you would like to improve your hearing, identifying the key priorities. We will also discuss relevant medical history.
We will conduct an examination of the outside and inside of your ears using a video otoscope, so you can also see what we are looking at on a big screen.
If there is any excessive ear wax present, we will remove it, where possible.
Hearing tests include full pure tone audiometry (air conduction and bone conduction) and masking, where required, to determine hearing thresholds.
Pure tone audiometry helps us understand the quietest points at which you can hear tones across a range of different frequencies. This helps us to identify whether any hearing loss is present.
We will conduct speech in noise testing, which helps us understand your ability to process speech sounds in background noise.
Where appropriate, we will try out your hearing aid recommendation to see how you respond to amplification.
We will simulate environments based on the areas of difficulty you have identified, and also demonstrate accessories relevant to you.
A comprehensive report document will be provided, giving you a breakdown of your hearing test results, and recommendations for potential treatment plans.
