Where microsuction is not the best option, we may use ear irrigation or manual techniques instead. The safest method depends on your ear health, the type of wax and what we find during your ear check.
What happens at your appointment?
We begin by looking inside your ears, so we can see whether wax is present and whether removal is appropriate. If wax is found, we explain the safest way to remove it and talk you through each step before we begin.
Once the wax has been cleared, we include a SoundCheck hearing health check. This helps confirm whether the wax was the only issue, or whether further hearing care may be worth considering.
